Children, seen with a parent in the room

Parents in Malkajgiri, Secunderabad and nearby Hyderabad bring children to Suraksha Homoeo Clinic for recurring coughs and colds, appetite questions, skin irritation, restless sleep, and worries about growth or immunity. Dr Prashanth Vasala, BHMS, MD (Homoeopathy), takes each child’s case separately, with a parent or guardian present throughout. The tone is gentle. The limits are firm. This service does not replace vaccination, and it does not replace paediatric emergency care.

The clinic is at 26-84 Chanakyapuri, near Malkajgiri railway station, Secunderabad 500047. Monday to Saturday, the morning session is 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and the evening session is 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Sunday is by appointment only. You may speak English, Telugu or Hindi, including the language you use with your child at home.

What families usually want to discuss

A run of colds through the school year is a frequent reason to book. So is a cough that returns whenever the weather changes, a nose that stays blocked, or a child who seems to recover and then fall ill again. Appetite may be the worry instead: a child who eats little, wants only a few foods, or has a stomach that complains after meals. Skin itching, mild recurrent rashes, and sleep that keeps the whole house awake also belong here when there are no danger signs.

Growth questions need care in how they are framed. Parents sometimes compare a child with cousins or classmates. The consultation can hear that worry and look at appetite, illness, sleep and any reports you already have. It cannot promise height, weight targets, or a faster development timetable. If a paediatrician has already flagged poor growth, keep that follow-up. Homoeopathic care, if suitable, is supportive beside it.

Safety signs that come before a booking

Take a child to urgent care, not to a later clinic slot, if they are struggling to breathe, have blue lips, are unusually drowsy, are not drinking, have a fit, have a rash with fever and lethargy, or are a young infant with fever. A stiff neck, repeated vomiting, or an injury also needs emergency assessment. Call the clinic only after the child is safe, or call now if you are unsure and need to be told to go to hospital. Being sent to urgent care is the correct outcome.

Medicines the paediatrician has started should continue. Bring the names and the doses you were given. Do not stop an antibiotic, an inhaler, or a fever plan because a homoeopathic visit is booked. If you are midway through a course, say so. The case can still be discussed, and you will be told if the acute illness should be reviewed medically before anything else.

How a child’s case is taken

The parent describes when the problem started, how often it returns, and what the child is like between episodes. Birth history, feeding in younger children, school, sleep, and bowel habit may be relevant. The child is included in a way that fits their age: a toddler may only need to be comfortable in the room, while an older child can say what hurts or what they fear. The doctor does not force a frightened child to perform.

Each sibling needs their own appointment. Back-to-back bookings are possible if you mention every name when you call. A family that wants two children seen “together in ten minutes” will not get a proper case. Adults in the same family can book their own visits separately. The child’s consultation stays about the child.

Immunity without exaggerated claims

Parents often ask whether homoeopathy can “increase immunity.” A careful answer is narrower than an advertisement. The visit can look at repeated minor illnesses, recovery between them, and the child’s individual picture. It does not claim to prevent infection, replace vaccines, or make a child uncatchable during school season. Vaccination remains with paediatric and public health services. Bring the immunisation questions you have to those services. This clinic will not advise you to skip vaccines.

Season, dust, a new classroom, and a house with smokers or heavy traffic may be part of the story you have noticed. Mention them. They explain pattern. They are not a blame list. Nutrition questions can be discussed in ordinary language. A child with a diagnosed nutritional deficiency, coeliac disease, or a special diet from a paediatrician should keep that plan primary.

Skin, cough and sleep in one history

Children rarely arrive with one neat complaint. A night cough, a morning appetite problem, and an itchy ankle may be one household’s week. Say the main worry first, then the rest. The doctor will decide what belongs in this case and what needs a paediatric look. Wheeze, chest indrawing, or a cough that exhausts a small child is urgent. A long pattern of mild recurrent colds, once emergencies are excluded, can be discussed without panic.

Sleep histories help: what time the child settles, whether they need a parent in the room, whether snoring or itching wakes them, and whether screens are part of the late evening. You will not be scolded. Practical points are offered only when they fit. Follow-up asks what changed at night and at school, not whether you achieved a perfect routine.

Growth, development and school

If you are worried about milestones, speech, learning, or a big change in behaviour, say that early in the visit. Some of those concerns need a paediatric or developmental assessment that this clinic does not replace. Homoeopathic consultation can still hear how the child eats, sleeps and copes, but it must not delay a referral your paediatrician would consider important. Bring any growth chart notes or school observations you have.

Older children and teenagers may want privacy around skin, periods or worry. A parent remains responsible for the visit. The doctor will keep the conversation suitable for the age. Exam stress and poor sleep in teenagers can be included. Self-harm or talk of suicide is an emergency for child mental health services, not a routine homoeopathic booking.

Follow-up for families

Children’s patterns are reviewed over time. A follow-up might be after a few weeks or around a change of season, depending on the case. Note fever days, cough nights, appetite, and any new medicine from another doctor. Partial improvement is still worth reporting. If the child becomes more unwell than at the visit, do not wait. Breathing difficulty, poor drinking, or a high fever belongs in urgent care the same day.

Rebook on 9010906402 or 9010906407, or WhatsApp 9010906402. Mention that it is a review and the child’s name. If you missed the date because of school or travel, say so. Do not restart leftover medicines on a relative’s advice while you wait.

Arriving with a child

Book with the child’s name and age, and say whether the concern is cough, skin, appetite, sleep or something else in a few words. Come a little early so the child is not rushed from the door into questions. Bring a snack and water if waiting would be hard, previous prescriptions, and the parent who knows the history best. Both parents are welcome, but one clear historian is enough.

Children’s growth and natural immunity, as offered here, means a parent-present consultation for everyday recurrent concerns and wellness questions. It is deliberately modest. The clinic will help you understand the individual child, discuss supportive homoeopathic care where it fits, and tell you plainly when a paediatrician or an emergency department is the right place instead.

Between visits, at home and at school

The useful work after a child’s consultation is quiet observation, not a stack of new rules. Note which nights the cough appeared, whether fever came with it, how play and appetite were the next morning, and whether a classmate’s illness was going through the house. Teachers sometimes mention sleepiness or frequent absence. A short line from you is enough. You are not expected to keep a medical chart. What matters is an honest picture at the review, including weeks that were ordinary.

Food can stay familiar. Forcing a large new diet on a selective child usually fails and adds conflict. Say what the child actually eats, including milk, fruit, and the snacks that travel to school. If a paediatrician has already prescribed iron, a special feed, or a restriction, that instruction leads. Homoeopathic support does not cancel it. Water, handwashing, and sleep timing may be mentioned when they clearly belong to repeated colds. They are ordinary care, not a cure.

Ask the clinic what should make you return early. Typical reasons are a fever that behaves differently from the child’s usual pattern, a cough that starts to limit play, a rash that spreads, or a medicine from another doctor that you are unsure how to combine with the plan discussed here. Typical reasons to skip the clinic entirely and use emergency services remain breathing difficulty, poor drinking, fits, and marked drowsiness. Write those on the same note as the appointment time so another caregiver in the family can see them.

If more than one child is unwell, resist the wish to treat the second with what was discussed for the first. Similar coughs can still be different cases, and a sibling may need urgent care even when the first child did not. Book a separate time. The same parent can tell both stories, but each history has to be heard. That is how Suraksha Homoeo Clinic keeps children’s consultations safe, specific, and free of promises about growth or immunity that a clinic cannot keep.

The visit

How consultation works

A parent describes the child's concern, development context and any medicines already given. The child is included in an age-appropriate way. High fever, poor feeding, rash with drowsiness, fits, or breathing difficulty need emergency care first.

Questions

Questions about this consultation

01Can two children be seen together?

Each child needs their own case. You may book back-to-back appointments. Mention both names when you call so the clinic can plan the time.

02Are childhood vaccines given here?

Vaccination is arranged through paediatric and public health services. The clinic does not replace that programme.

Homoeopathic care should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional. Seek urgent medical care for emergencies. Information on this website is for general understanding and does not replace a personal consultation.
